What is the signature of your massage?

Our process goes beyond simply delivering a massage. While you are engaged in a session, you receive full, undivided attention. In our “integrated” massage we direct techniques to your requests and we work with a perceptive and very conscious touch to alleviate physical and energetic blocks. We engage both structure and energy in a way that increases your physical and energetic awareness, decreases soreness and frees tight muscles and fascia. Beyond giving you relaxation and more freedom of movement, massage therapy in Incline Village encourages a stronger sense of alignment and balance and most often a stronger, clearer sense of yourself.

What is well-being and how does massage/bodywork facilitate it?

The traditional dictionary definition for well-being is: the state of being happy, healthy, or prosperous. To us, well-being is so much more than this simple definition. Well-being is the state at which you experience your greatest potential. When you are balanced through mind, body and spirit, you are able to live a healthier and happier life. Bodywork in Incline Village enhances the harmony between these three dimensions of being, as well as relieving the aches and pains that get in the way of feeling free, tranquil, present and aligned. At San Soma we go beyond simply working tired muscles; we help you reach a state of well-being.

What is Zero Balancing and who offers Zero Balancing in Incline Village?

Zero Balancing is a form of bodywork—developed by Dr. Fritz Smith in 1970s—that engages structure and energy with a signature touch that aligns the body and mind. The practitioner works with bones, energy meridians and energy fields to remove discomfort and energy disruptions, allowing clients to feel more centered and to function at a higher state of wellness. Clients who we’ve worked with in this modality report feelings of balance and increased connection between mind, body and spirit. The experience of Zero Balancing in Incline Village can evolve for a few days after the session. It is often beneficial to get a series of sessions. This is truly an exceptional technique with the potential for expanding awareness and health. The work is done fully clothed and in a supine (face-up) position. Denne Babbin-Simon is proud to be one of the few qualified, licensed massage therapists to offer Zero Balancing in Incline Village.

How can I expect to benefit/feel from a session with San Soma?

Most of our clients leave with an immediate feeling of improved health. Depending on the treatment, you may feel more aligned with yourself both physically and spiritually. Our sessions can help you become more involved with your own healing processes. While we are working, you may have the opportunity to experience breathing techniques and focus on directing energy, or you can simply relax. You can expect to leave feeling peaceful, refreshed and more in tune with yourself.

Most of our clients choose our integrated approach in which we use a combination of techniques to achieve their goals for the session. We have a great appreciation for Zero Balancing in Incline Village and include some Zero Balancing techniques in most of our sessions. Time and again we have seen our clients leave with lasting results. The integrated massage holds true potential for inspiring health at the highest levels. Our clients leave feeling lighter, more centered, and in much stronger alignment and focus for achieving their frame (the intentions they’ve set for themselves).

How do sports, deep tissue and Swedish massage differ?

Swedish massage is the most common technique used in massage therapy. It focuses on relaxing the entire body, rubbing the muscles with several kinds of strokes, directing blood back to the heart. Deep tissue on the other hand, focuses more on working tight muscle tissue, tendons and fascia. Sports massage is an adaptive modality depending on the sport and/or injury present. Each sport has specific areas that endure additional stress in the body. With a sports massage in Incline Village, we focus on these areas intensively.
